I agree, it's a circular argument, publishers won't buy it, so it's not in the shops, so people don't see it, so people don't enjoy it, so it doesn't get the press, so no-one thinks there's any call for it, and people aren't writing it and submitting to publishers!

Or not huge amounts, when you look at the enormous wealth of talent and also-run-talent in fandoms...
